Leading aged care provider, Benetas has appointed Sarah McInerney as the new General Manager of Quality, Outcomes and Research, following the departure of Dr Catherine Joyce due to an interstate move.
Ms McInerney comes with a diverse background and more than 15 years’ experience in health and community services. Most recently she was Executive Manager, Service Improvement Residential Communities for Australian Unity and managed the organisations pandemic response over the past 18 months.
With an impressive career, Ms McInerney brings Executive level experience in operations and was also a non-executive Director of an aged care organisation. Prior to this she ran her own pharmacy business and started her career as a Solicitor.
Benetas CEO Sandra Hills OAM said Sarah will be a great addition to the organisation.
“Sarah is a values driven leader with a strong focus on customer outcomes and experience, and strives for best practice and innovation in her roles” she said.
“She has improved the health and wellbeing outcomes for a range of people across a vast number of settings over her career.
“Her experience in particular as the Business Owner of the Residential Communities Command and Control Centre at Australian Unity will enable Benetas to extend the good work of Dr Joyce in this area.
“Sarah is well versed in managing risk assessment, as well as reporting and compliance requirements, particularly during outbreak management situations.
“This will build on the legacy left by Dr Joyce in developing exceptional quality and risk frameworks, setting Benetas up for increased reporting requirements following the Royal Commission findings and building on actionable research which benefits our clients and older Australians more broadly.
“Sarah is strategic, analytical, commercially astute, an exceptional communicator and an inclusive and collaborative manager. We are thrilled to have her on the team.”
Ms McInerney said she was delighted to join the leading Victorian aged care provider and work with the team in the areas of quality, business and customer outcomes, and research.
“Benetas has a great reputation in the industry and is a strong advocate for an aged care system that is for the customer and sustainable for the long term,” she said.
“I am excited to take on this role, meet my team and join my Executive peers in helping the organisation to navigate the significant sector changes ahead and positively impact the lives of older Victorians.”
Ms McInerney will commence with Benetas on 3 November 2021.
