Campbell (Cam) Richards has been appointed as Benetas’ CFO and Company Secretary.
He assumes the role from Neil Fawcett, Benetas’ outgoing CFO and Company Secretary, who has been at the helm for over 14 years.
Cam joins Benetas after a career spanning 17 years in public health, government, not-for-profit and professional services; including six years at KPMG.
He has managed broad portfolios such as investment, financial control, commercial and government funding as well as corporate governance. For the past 10 years, he worked at Australian Red Cross Lifeblood where his most recent role has been the Director of Strategy, Government Relations & Projects. During this time he also covered Capital & Strategic Investments and Financial Control.
Cam is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Engineering (Civil) and a Bachelor of Arts in Commerce (Accounting) degree.
While welcoming Cam to the team, Benetas would also like to thank outgoing CFO and Company Secretary, Neil Fawcett for the invaluable role he has played at Benetas for over a decade.
Benetas CEO, Sandra Hills OAM, speaks about the changes:
‘I’d like to start by acknowledging Neil Fawcett’s contributions to Benetas over the past 14 years. We have had a strong partnership, and he has strengthened our governance and ensured the financial stability of the organisation.
‘He steered the organisation through challenging times, including the global financial crisis and, more recently, the COVID-19 pandemic.
‘We will miss Neil’s calm persona under pressure and his ability to look at issues from different perspectives to reach a solution.
‘I’d like to extend an extremely warm welcome to Cam Richards, who has been undertaking a formal handover with Neil for the past few weeks.
‘Cam has quickly established his presence and built strong relationships across the organisation. His extensive experience will hold us in good stead as we navigate a rapidly changing sector.
I’m looking forward to working with Cam, envisaging the valuable contribution he’ll make to the next stage of Benetas’ journey,’ she said.
