St George’s offers a wide-range of leisure and lifestyle activities as well as pastoral care support. There is a close connection with local community organisations, churches and social groups, giving clients access to essential networks outside the home so they can maintain their community associations and friendships.

What are the meals like at St George's?

At Benetas St George's we are proud of the delicious, healthy meals we prepare for residents and their guests. Cooks work closely with nutritionists and dieticians to ensure all meals prepared fulfil nutrition requirements. We use fresh produce in all our kitchens and cater to cultural and religious requirements, and aim to please all individual tastes. Benetas St George's holds regular ‘food forums’ for residents and kitchen staff to discuss new ideas for the menus.

We encourage our staff and volunteers to bring a pastoral sensibility to their roles, to listen to and be truly present to our residents. Our specialist team of non-denominational Pastoral Care Practitioners provide individualised and ongoing spiritual and emotional support. 

In addition, through our Lifestyle Program, denominational visitors and volunteer companions foster an ongoing connection with our residents’ chosen faith tradition and provide church and chaplaincy services.

Benetas staff and volunteers offer pastoral empathy in their roles by listening to, and being there for, residents. Our specialist team of non-denominational Pastoral Care Practitioners provide individualised, ongoing spiritual and emotional support. In addition, through our Lifestyle Program, residents’ chosen faiths are supported with church and chaplaincy services through our worship and reflection spaces.

Refurbishment and expansion of St George's Peter Volk Wing

We are pleased to announce the commencement of a significant expansion to and refurbishment of Benetas St George’s. We are committed to investing in the local community and ensuring we meet the increasing demand for aged care in the area, now and well into the future, and this project is reflective of that.

The works will see the refurbishment of the currently vacant wing, linked to the Peter Volk Wing with an additional 30 aged care places. The new development will reflect Benetas’ new approach to aged care, with apartment-style configuration working to create an environment that is as home-like as possible.

In line with our new approach, we also plan to refurbish the Peter Volk Wing based on the apartment-style model. 

  • Refurbishment of the vacant wing is due for completion in June 2018
  • Refurbishment of the Peter Volk Wing is due for completion in October 2018
  • Admission of new residents can take place from November 2018
