Centre for Cultural Diversity in Ageing Consumer Voice Film project
In November 2021, the “You Can Ask for What You Need from Aged Care Services” film was released by the Centre for Cultural Diversity in Ageing in 16 different languages. The film aims to raise awareness for consumers from culturally diverse backgrounds about their right to give feedback to an aged care service.

Monica Fitzpatrick, known as Bonnie, celebrated the milestone of one hundred years young on 8 October. Bonnie marked the occasion at Benetas aged care home St Laurence Court Kangaroo Flat, surrounded by friends and then later with her family.

Thanks to a grant from the Psyche Foundation awarded to leading aged care provider Benetas, research was conducted into how to improve the mental health of people moving into residential aged care and ease the transition for them and their loved ones. Benetas welcomes more than 300 new residents into their Residential Aged Care homes every year. The research, managed by Benetas Senior Researcher Dr Meg Polacsek, aimed to uncover the pain points to help support residents and families better when the time came to make the move.
